Liuva
I photographed with my friend Liuva yesterday, it was a great dialogue with a camera present. She validated a lot of my thoughts about what I do. I've a bad habit of not explaining myself fully to my subjects. We spoke of the relationship between photographer and subject, collaboration, performance and the ability to step outside oneself if only for a few hours. I do regret one thing; that I can't spend more time with the people I photograph or get closer to them. I read about photographers who spend days, weeks, months with their subjects with a certain amount of jealousy.

Culture Clash on Stag Hill
Tensions are elevated here on the mountain. (No pun intended)
Tragically there was a shooting involving State authorities who were attempting to enforce laws on the use of all-terrain-vehicles on state land. The ATV being a part of one culture, the application of law equally to everyone being a part of another culture.
I hope this comes to a common sense and just resolution without further bloodshed.

The title "Family of Man(n)" not to be confused with Eugene Smith's (Family of Man) Although methinks, Smith would have found this place fascinating.

Who are you?
OK, every once in a while I look at the stats for my blog, we broke 5000 hits over the weekend. And I've been looking at where the traffic is coming from. (Some interesting places, some as far away as New Zealand, Iran and Singapore) But the one I'm most curious about is right here in NJ. That's right, you the anonymous Bayonne viewer who apparently works for Maidenform. http://www.maidenform.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?sectionId=33
